The Rosary is one of the most beloved and distinctive Roman Catholic prayers. The prayer has a long tradition in history, but is remarkably modern, at least by Catholic standards. The rosary originated in the 12th and 13th centuries. Since many people of that time could not afford a psalm book, traveling clergy used a string of beads as he prayed with them.
The act of praying the Rosary is said to bring many benefits and graces. Among them are miracles, psychological and emotional benefits, and a deepening of the relationship between the penitent and the Virgin Mary, and the Trinity.
